ERA Championships take place over two days. Since 2011, a new race format was implemented: the qualifying rounds and the semi-finals of 1x, 2- and 2x will be held on Saturday. All other races will take place on Sunday. So plan to come for both days.

ERA Championships - July 6th and 7th 2013

Program

The ERA Championships is held over two days, with the following program:

  • Saturday morning: Qualification for 1x, 2- and 2x (Time-Trial);
  • Saturday afternoon: Semi-finals and finals C to E for 1x, 2- and 2x (Side-by-side);
  • Sunday morning: Heats for 4-, 4x and 8+ and for Masters categories (Side-by-side);
  • Sunday afternoon: Final A & B for all categories (Side-by-side).

Race events

The race events are decided by the Organizing Committee, following ERA Board of Directors directives. In 2013, we will have more than 50 events for the ERA Championships, over two days.

Regulations

Rules of racing

The regulations of the ERA Championships are based on Rowing Canada Aviron Rules of Racing (click here to see RCA's website and download the Rules of Racing). However, some aditionnal rules are specific to the regatta. You will find complete rules for download here.

Extra information

  • All trailer drivers must call 514-872-3327 to have gate N-3 opened to access the tarmac. A security agent from Parc Jean-Drapeau will assign you to a specific spot on-site for your trailer. Be aware that no trailer or boats can be parked in front of hangar #A, and that trucks or cars need to be parked on Parking P2, away from the tarmac.
  • All athletes and coaches must follow traffic rules on the water. All rules are posted on the information boards in front of the basin.
  • The Quartier des athlètes (Athletes quarter) will be open Saturday from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
  • In order to avoid contamination by blue-green algae in the basin, all the boats will need to be clean before getting on the water. Washing station will be stand on the tarmac.
